According to the inscription over the door, the church was built in 1634 on older foundations, and was decorated in 1636. The upper walls of the nave are decorated with medallions showing images of saints. The vault shows scenes of the Gospel. St. Petka Church is located in Kale quarter, Knyas Boris I Street, opposite the Cross-Shaped Barracks, close to the Danube Riverside Park.
