Krastata Kazarma, the cross shaped barracks, were erected in 1798 – 1801 to house Ottoman troops, especially the janissaries of Osman Pazvantoglu. After the liberation, it was the seat of the Martial Court of Justice and in possession of the Bulgarian army. Since 1969, it has housed the ethnographic collection of Vidin life in the 19th and 20th centuries. Among the most impressive artefacts is the collection of fine women's low-cut sleeveless dresses and men's costumes.
