Museum of Cahul Land

The Museum of Cahul Land presents to the public in its exhibition halls, information about the life of the inhabitants of southern Bessarabia. It contains a nature section which includes themed collections of birds and animals and a history section that presents the evolution of human society from the Paleolithic to the Roman pre-state formations. The history of Cahul city, from the 15th century to the present, is presented in the exhibition "Scheia, Frumoasa, Cahul" and the temporary exhibition "Cahul events and destinies". Ethnographic section arouses a particular interest. Opened in 1979, it consists of a peasant house, a shed and a smithy of the late 19th century - early 20th century. The exhibition of towels, carpets, wall carpets, shells, furniture, technical and agricultural inventory, offer the visitor the experience of the material and spiritual complexity of this nation.

The Museum of Cahul Land is open not only to the locals, but it also operates within the cultural projects at national and international levels (participating in exhibitions, scientific conferences, scientific and practical seminars, fairs etc.)
