A chance to paint with one of Bulgaria’s star painters in Vidin
21st to 27th July ~ 18th to 24th August ~ 1st to 7th September 2013
For the amateur or professional artist there cannot be many places more picturesque to paint than those in and around the Vidin region. Added to this, the chance to paint with arguably Bulgaria’s most talented young artist, Vladimir Rogozharov, makes this trip quite unique – his paintings are on display in galleries and houses all over the world and you can view Vladimir’s work by visiting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhEWwGVSyIA
During the week you will have the opportunity to paint two of Bulgaria’s most famous landmarks, Baba Vida Castle and Belogradchik Rocks together with some wonderful scenery. Vladimir’s work includes both oil and watercolour and say’s that ‘the light, the colours, the contrasts and the warmth add to the pleasure of painting such beautiful icons’. Not only will you have the opportunity to paint some of Bulgaria’s most scenic locations, your work may also be displayed in the local gallery.
Day one ~
- Arrive Sofia airport – collected from the airport
- Travel towards Vidin with refreshments on the way at Vratsa
- Check in at the Hotel Rovno in Vidin
- Welcome dinner in the hotel restaurant – also meet Vladimir, your tutor for the week.
Day two ~
- Transfer to Baba Vida Castle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baba_Vida The castle dates back some 2000 years and offers the artist several alternatives and once painted, will never be forgotten.
- Dinner at a local restaurant
- Return to the hotel.
Day three ~
- To the studio to continue working on paintings started at Baba Vida
- Lunch
- Dinner at a local restaurant
- Return to the hotel.
Day four ~

Day six ~
- A water colour day – a chance to paint one of the most picturesque scenes in the Vidin region; the vineyards of Negovanovsti in the foreground looking over the Danubian plain towards the river Danube in the distance.
- Lunch on location
- Dinner at a local restaurant
- Return to the hotel.
Day seven ~
- Early coach to Sofia and the airport
- Flights home.
Price ~
The price includes personal transfers from and to Sofia airport, breakfast each morning, all evening meals (excluding drinks unless indicated), painting materials, lunches where indicated, transport in and around the region, translator and refreshments at Vratsa.Prices are based upon 12 paying tourists.

Special information
As this visit is very much ‘hands-on’ and to ensure that you get as much from this trip as possible the organisers have restricted the number of participants to a maximum of 12 persons.Appropriate canvas will be supplied, but it is recommended that you bring your own paints and brushes.
If anyone has specific dietary requirements please inform the organiser when you book.Unfortunately Bulgaria is not very wheelchair friendly, however…every effort will be made to make your stay enjoyable.
