The Museum and Library of Mining History opened at this place in 2004. It was created by the three former Pécs based mining companies Mecsek Coal Mining Company, Mecsek Ore Mining Company, and Mining Shaft Sinker Company. The Museum shows artifacts from the mining history (photos, flags, documents) and was first shown, in 1974, in the former headquarters of Danube Steamshipping Company, Mária St. 9.
