The most prominent Serbian Orthodox church in town was built between 1783 – 1787 and is dedicated to the birth of St. John the Baptist. The church is in the town centre, at a certain distance from the Danube. It is on the main street, ulica Svetozara Miletića, near the municipal building and post office. The church has a late Baroque style bell tower. The architects were Josif Cigler and Ernest Harle, both from Cerević. It has a famous and particularly decorative iconostasis, made by local artists and Georgije Dević, a carpenter, who also decorated the choir. The valuable late Baroque style and early classicist style icons date back to 1811 and the master Grigorije Jezdmirović.
