Originally the parish church of the Hungarian citizens in the castle quarter, it dates back to 13th century. Partly used as a mosque, during ottoman times, it was destroyed afterwards and a new church was built. WWII ended the history of the church. The tower remained, and an exhibition shows the history of the churche (see also section Budapest, Sightseeing in and around Budapest).
