Natural jewels in the surroundings of Danube from Klížska Nemá to Medveďov
The trail unveils the beauty floodplain forests, which in many aspects create an extraordinary habitat hosting different species of fauna and flora. The trail is not signed. It is selfguided trail. The most interesting natural spots are the Danube, the floodplain forests and the Číčov Oxbow Lake (which lake was created during the flood of 1899 and it is National Nature Preserve - over 100 species of birds nest within the preserve and the 24 species of fish that are found here are unequalle).
The best time to visit is from April to October. The trail is an ideal choice for lovers of nature. Along this trail there are only some cotteges with accomodation services, but there are no restaurants. The trail is easily walkable, the best for target groups: families / 50+. Klížska Nemá and Medveďov are easily accessible by bus. Hikers can also try cycling. Prices are friendly, food is delicious (scone, fisherman’s soup and goulash are traditional food in the area).
