Natural and cultural jewels in the rural Danube region
Hikers of the area can enjoy the picturesque plain with unique flora and fauna, also they can visit a watter mill in Kolárovo or traditional shambles over weekends from November till the end of March. It is selfguided trail. The most interesting natural spots are the rivers Little Danube and Váh.
The best time to visit the area is from April to October. The trail is an ideal choice for lovers of nature, culture and history. Kolárovo is the home of the Hanna Hanna Art Gathering and Festival in every August. Along this trail there some hiker friendly accomodations (camp, cottages, pensions) and restaurants. The best accomodation services are available in Hotel Leonor (www.hotelleonor.sk) in Kolárovo.
The trail is easily walkable, the best for target groups: families / 50+. Kolárovo and Martovce are accessible by bus. Prices are friendly, food is delicious (scones, fisherman’s soup and goulash are traditional food in the region).
