These famous springs and bath have been used since 15th century. Once also called Sárosfürdő (Mud bath), it has become world famous for its early 20th century secession style architecture. The hotel opened in 1918. The baths offer a series of thermal treatments, the hot water spring, coming from Gellért hill, which contains calcium, magnesium, hydrogen-carbonate, sulfate chloride, sodium, and fluoride ions. Even if you do not want to take a bath, you should have a look inside. There are also events in the baths (classical concerts, disco classic, and so on). It is located at the center of the right bank of Danube, near Szabadság Bridge, and can be reached easily by taxi or trams 18, 19, 41, 47, and 49, or bus lines 7, 7A, 86, 133 E, or 233 E.
