Business Support Centre for Small and Medium Enterprises-Ruse

The Business Support Centre for Small and Medium Enterprises-Ruse is a non-profit NGO, working on EU funded projects, for the benefit of the companies from various economic sectors to help them grow and expand their activities. We place a special emphasis on the tourism sector. Among the numerous initiatives we have performed so far are the following:

• We have developed a common Tourism Promotion Strategy and a common Tourism Cluster Strategy for the cross-border region Romania-Bulgaria;
• We have developed a Tourism Network (http://www.bsc.smebg.net/tourism/) for exchange of information, practices and organization of business-to-business events, promotion of the tourism services and products of its members. At the moment the network has 49 members (municipalities, tour operators, hotel owners and guest houses, tourist information centres) from all Bulgarian districts along the Danube River. All services are free for the tourism stakeholders. The network distributes information to more than 500 tourism stakeholders from North Bulgaria; We organize and participate in seminars, brokerage events and exhibitions with the aim to promote the tourism opportunities and the products of our members, we provide consultations on opportunities for joint activities in the tourism field, we help them find business partners, we provide information and consultation on European financing for tourism projects;
• We organized the first Cross-border Tourism Fair – CrossTour Fair 2012, "The Danube Al-TOUR-native", focused on alternative tourism;
• We developed a website in four languages (www.danubetournet.eu) for the opportunities for tourism for the whole cross-border area Bulgaria-Romania, promoting all kinds of alternative tourism, tour operators and travel agents, hotels and other accommodation providers in the region as well as events of interest to tourists;
• We designed, made research, took photos and published a luxury alternative tourism photo album for the promotion of the cross-border region Bulgaria-Romania;
• We are implementing a DCC-funded project, supporting Biodiversity - Online Ecotourism Guide (http://bsc.smebg.net/ecotourguide/) for guest house owners;
• We organize annual b2b events in the field of tourism;
• We are a member of the Sector Group “Tourism and Cultural Heritage” of the largest European business supporting network – the Enterprise Europe Network;
• We are a voting member in the Steering group of PA7, PA8, PA9 and PA10 of the EUSDR.
