Noe-Romantique style Vajdahunyad Castle (vára) was erected for the millennium festivities, in 1896. The fairy tale complex of medieval reminiscence was built by Ignác Alpár and it never had any military use. It has a neo-Gothic style entrance gate, while the tower is a copy of Romanian castle tower of Sighișoara. Further details have been taken from Northern Hungarian castle architecture and especially from Huneduora Castle (Castelul Corvinilor) in today`s Romania.
