Ferenc Martyn (1899 – 1986), who died in Pécs, worked as sculptor, painter, graphic artist and illustrator. He was a dominant figure in 20th century modern Hungarian art and spent several years of his life in Pécs. In 1974, a first museum dedicated to his work was opened. In 2011, this new exhibition was opened with a comprehensive overview of paintings and sculptures.
