If you are visiting Tulcea and the Romanian Danube Delta, do not miss the ruins of Enisala Fortress in Tulcea County. Also known as Yeni-Sale (Enisala, Enişla), it is a medieval fortress (from the second half of the 14th century AD) on the Fortress Hill (Dealul Cetăţii) in the village of Enisala (meaning New Town) and overlooking Lakes Razelm and Babadag. The impressive landscape makes the fortress one of the tourist highlights of the Dobruja region.
