Saint Nichola’s Church, the 30m high Tulcea Cathedral, was built in 1865 of brick and stone with three towers in neo-Byzantine style. It is situated in the city centre (intersection Frumoasa St, Babadag St and Progresului St), the interior was decorated in1905 and 1906 with renaissance style paintings by Prof. D. Marinescu.
