[Adventure all-in] 4days Kayaking Tours in Danube Delta - 2013

It is a kayak tour with a medium difficulty level. Not a difficult tour but we must be a little bit careful to reach camping points every night.

Program

Day 1 - We meet at Tulcea (at 14:00), near the ferry crossing, we put the kayaks on the water, do a little training, sign the papers and start on the water.

We paddle downstream not on the Danube but on small chanels and wild lakes, to Mila 23: Garla Sireasa, Cot Candura (intersection with Sontea). We paddle slowly, we have enough time. May stop occasionally and stretch our legs, at noon we can afford a longer break of about an hour to eat lunch and something sweet for energy. Please read the section NEEDED, on our blog. After lunch we take another trip and then we search for a good place for night camping.

There will be not a long paddling day, we try to avoid muscle soreness or corns, if we have beginners in the tour, we put more emphasis on the development of paddling technique, we have a very good guide that will show us everything we need to know .

Day 2 - We wake up around 7:00, eat breakfast and then start on water, on Garla Sontea to Mila 23, we have a great track with many birds, vegetation, wild lakes and chanels. We can stop from time to time, to take pictures. At lunch, we take a break about 2 hours, to eat and get some rest then we'll paddle about anoother 2 hours and stop for evening near Mila 23 on a good place to camp.

Day 3 - We wake up without hurry, we eat and then, again kayaks on the water and start on a very scenic route: Eracle Channel, Channel Lopatna, Lake Varsina, Varsina Channel, Channel Catavaia, Mila23. This route takes us about half a day, the other half we pack our bags, take a grill and rest a bit. In the evening we accommodate in a 3* guesthouse, in the Village Mila 23, in double rooms with own bathroom.

Day 4 - After breakfast, we go out for the last tour on the water, on a course we will ask to show us everything I've learned in the last 3 days. At lunch we go back to the guesthouse for a traditional fishermen lunch, collect your luggage and take our boat transfer to Tulcea (around 15:00-16:00).

You must have with you:

• Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad
• Seasonal clothes - necessarily sun hat, robes to not fry in the sun, warm clothes for the evening / morning, thin waterproof clothing.
• Sunscreen creme
• Mosquitoes repellent
• Hydration liquids, energizing juices (NOT RedBull but athlete versions)
• Waterproof protection for camera, phones and devices
• Waterproof bags or barrels for clothing and equipment

Luggage

Because we have a support boat after us, there is no need to ultra-compact the luggage. A backpack or a bag of luggage per person in the assistance boat + a hand bag with everything you need half day, with you in kayak.

Assistance Boat

Will carry baggage but will NOT stay with us. The boat departs every step (morning and lunch time) forward and waits for us in lunch and dinner places. One guide will drive this boat, one guide will paddle with you. Both guides will prepare lunch on fire wood and you can participate to this preparation and clean the table and wash the dishes (very much appreciate your involvement in these activites :-).

Kayaks

We have very good quality Prijon Cruiser kayaks, single and double. Please tell us when you book if you want single or double kayak.

Meals

We bring the food, the guides are very good chefs, you will be amazed how well they can cook in the camping conditions.
Usually, at lunch, we make a soup in pot (can be fish, chicken, pork) + a big rich salad or grilled fish / chicken (combined) + a large salad.

At dinner ussualy is fish or other meat grilled + salad. For every meal, we have fresh vegetables and fruits.

For breakfast, we have eggs to boil or to make a huge omlet + cheese, vegetables, yoghurt, fruits, jam.

Price:

330 euro / person

The price includes:

• Kayak rental, 4 days
• Meals, starting with dinner on Day 1 and ending with lunch on Day 4
• Pick up the kayaks in Mila23 (only valid for our kayaks)
• Boat (boats) for assistance, including the gasoline (gas is included ONLY! for the route established for this trip, if you want additional transport, the fuel will be paid separately)
• 2 guides, one will drive the assistance boat and one will paddle with the group in a single kayak
• Danube Delta Administration permit fee (we will need the complete name of each one, as is in the ID or passport, few days in advance to buy the permits)

Price does not include:

• Drinks from the pension bar
• Any kind of insurance (travel, health etc) and it’s recommended to take one

Optional:

• Single supplement (for accommodation) - 50 euro / person / program
• Personal trainer (to go only with you in a double kayak) - 200 euro / program (4 days)

Booking

Have to be done at least 7 days before the trip.

Booking is done by paying a deposit of 50 euro, the rest of the payment can be done in Tulcea, when we meet.

The deposit can be paid by bank transfer or PayPal. Please write to us and we’ll send you the payment details.
