This Roman Catholic church, the biggest one in the region, is dedicated to the holy name of Mary, in Serbian it is called Crkva imena Marijinog is a landmark in the city center. The temple was constructed in the Gothic Revival style in 1895, replacing another church that was burnt down in the Hungarian revolution of 1848. The architect was Georg Molnar. The wooden altar is from Tyrol, the stained glass windows are from Budapest, and the roof tiles are made from the world famous Hungarian Zsolnay ceramics.
