Since the Jewish Community has been reduced to around 100 members, there is no longer an active synagogue in Ruse. But the existing synagogue at Doctor Mustakov Square is used as a Jewish community centre. The first synagogue in Ruse was opened in 1797, but burnt down in 1810. Two further synagogues were constructed in 1826 and 1852.
