SHORT HISTORY:

THE POTTERY WORKSHOP,,D’ACCORD’’ was set up in 2012 as a result of implementing the project ,,Ancient crafts’’, financed by the PACT Foundation. At present, THE POTTERY WORKSHOP,,D’ACCORD’’is under the administration of the Association for non-formal Educations ,,D’ACCORD’’

Mon - Fri: 9.00 a.m-2.00 p.m ; Sat - Sun - on request

• VISITING TAX :

-4,00 lei/h – for adults (1 EUR)

-2,00lei /h- for pupils, students and pensioneers (0,5 EUR)

• OPPORTUNITIES FOR VISITORS/TURISTS

At THE POTTERY WORKSHOP,,D’ACCORD’’ you can :

- register for beginner classes taught by pottery instructors ;

- relax, replicating clay pottery from the neolitic period, under the guidance of a skills trainer ;

- receive assistance/consultancy in pottery, on request ;

- get acquainted with the ancestors’ working techniques, engraving the pottery you create with the famous ,,clay teeth’’, curves, web hatching, spirals… ;

- fish (in the Danube and in the nearby lakes), according to the regulations ;

- listen to stories about the region’s outlaws, either in the light of torches or in front of a bonfire, organised o request ;

- get information from specialists regarding the tourism objectives of the area (the workshop has its own guide who can speak Romanian, English or French).

• The Pottery Workshop organises, on request, hiking trips to visit the following important objectives of our town, which can be found nearby :

- The ,,Holy Trinity’’ Church

- Biocamp ,,D’ACCORD’’

- Independence Monument

- The Central Park

- The Independence Cross

- The Archaeologic Complex Sucidava (Sucidava Citadel, the Secret Fountain, the Constantinian Gate, the base of the Bridge Constantin the Great, the Hypocaust, the Christian Basilica)
