Danube Cycle Path in Austria
The Danube Cycle Path in Austria leads through one of the oldest cultural scenes in Europe accompanied by the waves of the Danube. Cycle from the former bishop’s seat Passau via the pulsating cultural laboratory Linz to the former emperor residence Vienna and to Bratislava.
The Danube Cycle Path in Austria leads on 330 km mostly along both river banks. Along the way, you can enjoy the landscapes of fertile plains and the vineyards of true natural beauty. Vienna and a number of historic medieval towns with their old Danube market places, castles, ruins, churches and monasteries allow you to experience the past, as well as modern time and offer some cultural insight into the different eras that co-inhibit in Central Europe today. On your tour along the Danube Cycle Path you will pass the Schlögener Schlinge, the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage region Wachau and famous monasteries like Engelszell, St. Florian, Melk, Göttweig and Klosterneuburg.
