The „Haus im Moos“ (House in the moor) disposes of a unique offer: the combination of history & culture and Nature & environmental education. The environmental education takes place in the house itself as well as the extensive outdoor area and is mainly consumed by schools of the wider region, which visit the house for school camp visits. Included in the House in the moor is an accommodation for 38 persons.
On the other hand the house disposes of an open-air museum consisting of 4 original houses from the 19-hundreds, which tell their visitors how early settlers from the 18-hundreds got along in the Donaumoos (Danube Moor)-region and let them become active themselves. One of these houses accommodates a restaurant, closely linked to the house.
Throughout the year the house offers an extensive programme including creative classes, walking tours, seminars and lectures on different topics. Major events like the Donaumoostage (Danube Moor Days) and the Museumsfest (Museum Festival) take place twice a year and attract visitors from all over Bavaria.
