Transport

Dillingen is located on the Danube valley railway line (Regensburg – Ulm). The regional trains between Donauwörth and Günzburg also stop in the town. Two bus lines serve the town centre and the villages of Hausen, Donaualtheim and Schretzheim. For a number of years, there has also been an on-call bus which travels to the villages of Fristingen, Kicklingen and Steinheim.

Dillingen is centrally located between four major cities in southern Germany: Munich, Augsburg, Stuttgart and Nuremberg. The town is well connected to destinations in every direction thanks to the B16, the Danube valley railway (Ulm-Regensburg), and the nearby autobahns (A8 Munich-Stuttgart and A7 Würzburg-Kempten). The nearest autobahn intersections are approx. 25km away in Giengen an der Brenz (A7) and Günzburg (A8).

The nearest airports are Augsburg (approx. 50km), and Munich and Stuttgart (both approx. 130km).
