Sigmaringen can be reached by the B32 from Hechingen to Ravensburg and the B313 from Reutlingen to Lake Constance.

Sigmaringen train station is on the Donautalbahn (Danube valley line) from Donaueschingen to Ulm. The Donautalbahn connects to the Zollernalbbahn (Zollernalb line) from Tübingen to Aulendorf. Trains also run from Sigmaringen to Gammertingen and Hechingen.

Public transport is provided by the Neckar-Alb-Donau (NALDO) network. In 1992 Sigmaringen became one of the first of Germany's kleinstädte (small cities) to get its own bus network. Carrying around 775,000 passengers a year, it is one of the country's most successful kleinstadt bus networks and is often studied by other transport authorities keen to emulate its success.
