Erbach is on the Württembergische Südbahn railway line between Ulm and Lindau. The town is part of the Danube-Iller public transport network, falling in the same tariff zone as the Südbahn line from Ulm to Bad Schussenried.

To reach Erbach by car from the A8 autobahn: exit at Ulm/Friedrichshafen, continue on the B10 and then the B311 between Ulm and Ehingen. The nearby A7 and A8 autobahn intersection provides good connections in all other directions. The Lake Constance region and Upper Swabia can be reached via the B30.

Erbach has a recreational airfield. The airports in Stuttgart, Munich, Friedrichshafen and Memmingen are also nearby.

Erbach is located on the Upper Swabian Baroque Route and on the Upper Swabian section of St. James' Way (from Ulm to Constance).
